Soap opera veteran Scott Reeves has been hospitalized with a heart issue and this has long-time fans feeling anxious. The news of Reeves' medical condition emerged via a tweet from former “General Hospital” and “The Young and the Restless” star Steve Burton, but subsequent updates indicate that Scott is doing okay. What happened?

Many soap fans remember Scott Reeves from his time as Jake Hogansen on “Days of Our Lives,” Ryan McNeil on “The Young and the Restless,” and Steven Webber on “General Hospital.” Scott also happens to be married to “Days of Our Lives” star Melissa Reeves, who plays Jennifer Horton.

What has Scott Reeves been up to these days?

These days, Reeves works on a number of non-acting projects, including playing in a band called Port Chuck. The band includes Reeves, Burton, Bradford Anderson, who plays Damian Spinelli on “General Hospital,” and Brandon Barash, who played Johnny Zacchara on the show and used to be married to “GH” star Kirsten Storms, who plays Maxie.

Port Chuck had some dates coming up that now have to be rescheduled, Burton noted via Twitter. The rescheduling is necessary because Reeves had to be hospitalized with a minor heart condition on Monday. Luckily, a few hours after Steve's first tweet, he posted again and shared that Scott was doing ok and will be having more tests as the week continues.

The soap veteran is said to appreciate the fan support

Burton added that Reeves appreciated everybody's thoughts and prayers. While Scott hasn't tweeted about the situation, and Melissa hasn't referred to it specifically, she did tweet on Tuesday that she was in a really good mood. Fans are hoping that the post indicates that her husband indeed is doing better.

As Soap Hub notes, it seems that Burton and Reeves were together on Monday when Scott started to feel some pain that concerned him. He headed to the hospital, and while he is doing better, they are proceeding cautiously. Several other "General Hospital" stars took to social media to send their well wishes to the actor and luckily, it sounds as if he's recovering well.

Soap fans of "General Hospital," "Young and Restless," and "Days of Our Lives" as well as Port Chuck followers hope that Scott Reeves' heart condition does turn out to be minor and that he can be up and playing dates with his band again soon.
