Sara Ali Khan, the daughter of Bollywood Superstar Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, is all set to make her acting debut through the movie "Student of the Year 2" which will be directed by Puneet Malahotra and produced by Karan Johar.

Tiger Shroff is playing the lead role in this movie, and it is expected to be a light-hearted romantic entertainer just like its predecessor.

Saif is now an excited dad

Saif Ali Khan himself confirmed this news about his daughter's acting debut, and the "Race" star told that he is quite happy that his kid is making her debut in a movie which is being produced by Karan Johar.

"He is a very intelligent and a passionate filmmaker, and he understands films. I am very pleased that she is with him", said Saif in a recent talk with Pinkvilla.

Sara's mother Amrita Singh and Tiger Shroff's father Jackie have acted together in four films, and now their children also are coming together onscreen. The first part of "Student of the Year" was a huge hit upon its release, and it took Alia Bhatt, Varun Dawan and Sidharth Malhotra to the heights of stardom.

Sara's fortune, Disha's misfortune

Earlier, there were reports that Disha Patani, the real-life girlfriend of Shroff will do this role in the movie, but later Karan Johar replaced Disha with Sara for unknown reasons.

This is not the first time that Disha is losing out a chance to act with his boyfriend; earlier, Disha lost out a chance to share screen space with Shroff in "Baghi" as Shraddha Kapoor was roped in for that role.

As Sara Ali Khan have been roped in as the lady lead in "Student of the Year 2", the pre-release hype surrounding the movie has reached new heights even before the commencement of filming.

The makers of the flick are now busy finalizing the remaining star cast.

More details about "Student of the Year2" are expected to be unveiled in the coming days. It will be interesting to see if the sequel will break the records of the Alia Bhatt starer 'SOY'.
