When "Dancing With The Stars" season 24 premieres March 20 on ABC, at least one popular professional dancer won't be on hand to serve as a pro coach. All-star season champion Tony Dovolani confirmed that he will not return for the hit reality dance competition's 24th season via a Feb. 24 Instagram post to fans. He is the first "DWTS" pro to formally confirm that he will not be part of the spring 2017 cast.

Tony Dovolani wanted fans to hear the news 'from me first'

In his post, the 43-year old dancer explained that though he "will miss the show and interacting with our wonderful audiences, both at home and in the ballroom," he will not be part of the "Dancing with the Stars" season 24 cast.

He went on to detail his future plans, which include expanding his Dance with Me USA studios, hosting the second annual Tony Dovolani Foundation: Golf For Special Needs Children tournament, and appearing in the upcoming broadcast of ABC's "Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion Shall We Dance On Ice."

Dovolani, who won the series' all-star season with reality star Melissa Rycroft, has partnered a total of 21 celebrity ladies across as many seasons. Some of his more notable partnerships have been with wrestler Stacy Keibler (season two), "Kate Plus 8" star Kate Gosselin (season 10), actress Leah Remini (season 17), and "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kim Zolciak-Biermann (season 21). He most recently worked with actress Marla Maples during season 22.

Who will join the 'DWTS' season 24 pro lineup?

Tony Dovolani may be a no-go for season 24, but two fan-favorite pros have confirmed that they'll be there when the curtain rises on March 20. Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who welcomed son Shai Aleksander just last month, revealed during "Good Morning America" earlier this week that they will both return to the series for a go at Mirrorball glory.

Other pros thought to be returning include Sharna Burgess, Witney Carson, Lindsay Arnold, and Valentin Chmerkovskiy, though none have formally confirmed their status.

"Dancing with the Stars" season 24 will air Mondays on ABC this spring.
