Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) won’t just be seen in Scotland in the coming “Outlander” Season 3, but in the sunny South Africa as well. The fictional couple is set to continue the show’s production in the said country to depict the journey in Diana Gabaldon’s “Voyager,” which the television series is based.

Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe created a video together to bid their goodbye and give thanks to the country of Scotland. Although the two didn’t give any much detail about their awaited reunion in “Outlander” Season 3, they just talked the time travel Jamie and Claire had been through that made them apart.

Sam Heughan feels emotional being away from Caitriona Balfe

Sam Heughan recently described filming without Caitriona Balfe is like “having a death in the family.” The Barbour brand ambassador told Vanity Fair it is like doing a production of a different television series when the 37-year-old actress is not around.

“It’s hard to separate yourself from the character,” Sam Heughan continued. “It’s always hard when we’re apart, actually, because she’s a great person, great to come to work with, and a very good actress.”

However, Sam Heughan teased the time that he and Caitriona Balfe are away from each other will add up to the reunion happening in “Outlander” Season 3.

In fact, he even hinted “it should be very special.”

Jamie and Claire’s hot reunion in ‘Outlander’ Season 3

It has been said Jamie and Claire will be apart for 20 years after the latter go on a time travel. Now, fans of the two are eager to know if the on-screen couple will have the hottest scene – like they used to – if they go under the sheet on their reunion.

Fortunately, Caitriona Balfe answered the fans’ question at the 12th Annual Oscar Wilde Awards. “I think if anything, when Jamie and Claire get together again, their love is timeless and who they are inside is timeless,” she said (via Vulture).

Caitriona Balfe further explained that playing her role as an aged Claire in “Outlander” Season 3 is an interesting challenge. And although she and Jamie will be on their late 40s or early 50s, she teased that their characters’ passion for each other “will still run very, very hot.”
