Angelina Jolie spoke out for the first time about her Divorce from Brad Pitt. She was emotionally and had to hold back tears when speaking with Yalda Hakim during a BBC World News' interview. The actress and humanitarian admitted that it was a very difficult time for her and her family.

The 41-year-old mother indicated that her focus is on her children. She said she is coping and trying to be strong through this difficult time. Jolie is the one who filed for divorce back in September. In the divorce papers, she cited irreconcilable differences, and she requested full custody of all the children.

The interview with BBC World News took place while Jolie and her children were in Cambodia for the screening of her movie, "First They Killed My Father." Jolie is the director of the movie that tells the true story of genocide in Cambodia where her son, Maddox, was adopted.

It was ironic for Jolie to be talking about a true story dealing with suffering while she is at the same time suffering herself. Viewers couldn't help from seeing the pain on her face and hear it in her voice as she answered Hakim's questions.

Alleged child abuse

After Jolie filed for divorce, Brad Pitt was investigated for alleged child abuse after an incident happened with Maddox on a private plane. Both parents released a joint statement last month stating that even though the divorce is still on, the proceedings would be private.

Therefore, Jolie and Pitt, along with attorneys on both sides, have signed agreements to protect the privacy of their family by keeping all court documents confidential with a private judge. This will keep legal decisions away from the public and will give the family some privacy. Perhaps this will eliminate some stress from an already stressful situation.

Jolie often referred to 'family.'

Jolie did not say anything against Brad Pitt during the interview. Instead, she referred to "family" throughout which gave the impression that Pitt was included in that term along with her and their children. Even though she is divorcing him, there might have been some hints that the actress has still had compassion for the man who has been by her side through medical issues and other ups and downs in her life.

Unfortunately, this is one time when he can't be by her side because he is the one Jolie has an issue with.

Jolie has risen from the ashes before, and she is likely to rise again, but for now there is pain and suffering in her family's life.
