Mariah Carey has recorded a new single inspired by her split from James Packer. Although fans are busy watching the singer fall in love with Bryan Tanaka on "Mariah's World," there is apparently a lot of hurt behind Mimi's ended engagement. While many people believed that MC ended her relationship with Packer because of Tanaka, it seems as though she just wasn't getting what she needed from Packer and that's actually why their romance came to an end.The new single is called "I Don't"
New clip posted on Instagram
Mimi posted a clip of her new song on Instagram for her fans to hear (check it out below).
The lyrics are fairly telling and seem to suggest that Packer fell short when it came to being there for Mariah.
"Cause when you love someone, you just don't treat them bad, you messed up all we had. Probably think I'm coming back, but I don't, I don't," Carey sings.
On the finale of "Mariah's World" -- an 8-part docuseries -- Mimi talked about her decision to break off her engagement to the Aussie billionaire.
"Ever since the tour wrapped I took some time just to process my feelings and I started writing a song to express what I've been going through. And if you're not getting the love that you need from someone that you're supposed to be in a real relationship with, then why remain in that situation?"
What about Tanaka?
Mariah Carey has been dating her backup dancer for a couple of months now.
In fact, once the two became official, MC reportedly asked the editing crew over at E! to show more of their love story. As fans watched week after week, it was easy to see that Mariah and Tanaka had an undeniable connection. The two seem very happy together and have not been shy about flaunting their love all over the world.
Is Mariah in love?
On the finale of "Mariah's World," Mimi talked about her new love.
"Tanaka, he’s a real person that I can relate to and be myself when I’m with him. He makes me happy," she said, confirming that the two had made it official by the time filming of the show had come to a close.
MC seems beyond happy in her new relationship and fans are hoping that Tanaka will be a bit of a muse for MC too.
