Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright moved in together in 2015 after Cartwright allegedly left Kentucky and escaped what has been described as a "turbulent life." Although Cartwright has never hinted at turbulence back home on "Vanderpump Rules," a new report claims the SUR Restaurant waitress' mom, Sherri, who split from Cartwright's father before she moved to Los Angeles, filed for bankruptcy when the reality star was just 19-years-old.

Sherri's troubles revealed

According to a report by Radar Online on January 9, Sherri filed documents claiming she was over $225,000 in debt in April 2008 and had between $100,001 and $500,000 to her name.

At the time, it was revealed that Sherri was working in the furniture industry after her tanning business failed after a six-year run.

Among Cartwright's mother's debt was a $7,848 bill to Bank of America and $1,986 bill to Macy’s. She also had taken out two mortgages on her house and had no cash when she filed. Meanwhile, before her filing, Sherri reportedly closed an account with a negative balance of -$275 and was sued by Ford after failing to make payments on her $17,000 vehicle.

Sherri will join Jax Taylor on 'Vanderpump Rules' season five

During the trailer clip for "Vanderpump Rules" season five, Jax Taylor was seen arguing with Cartwright as she sat on the couch with her mother. At the time, Taylor and Cartwright were having a dispute over Cartwright's alleged failure to generate income for herself.

Since then, however, Cartwright, who worked for Hooters during season four, began working at SUR Restaurant, where Taylor has worked for the past several years.

In addition to her relationship with Taylor, Cartwright is also close to other cast members, including Ariana Madix and Scheana Marie, who also work at SUR Restaurant, and Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute, who used to work at the restaurant.
