"Dancing With The Stars" 2017 finally has a premiere date, according to a Jan. 12 report by Glamour. The long-running reality dance competition will return to ABC with an all-new cast of celebrity Mirrorball Trophy hopefuls --and a hearty batch of returning "DWTS" pro dancers-- on March 20. The date is in line with those of the hit reality TV show's previous spring premieres.

'DWTS' season 24 cast news and speculation

Although the "Dancing with the Stars" 2017 premiere date is now out in the open, the identities of the lucky celebs who will shake their moneymakers alongside the likes of reigning pro champion Valentin Chmerkovskiy and season 23 runner-up Sharna Burgess are still under wraps.

According to Executive Producer Deena Katz, the "DWTS" season 24 roster is "about half done," although they'll deliberately leave a few slots open for big news-makers as the premiere draws near.

There aren't yet any confirmed "Dancing with the Stars" 2017 cast members, but the rumor mill is beginning to churn. One potential cast member is "The Bachelor" 2017 Nick Viall, who told Glamour that "anyone would be the luckiest person in the world to even be considered" for the lineup. Another potential contestant is Olympic bronze medalist Ronda Rousey, who suffered a brutal loss at UFC 207. Although Rousey's camp hasn't commented, entertainment correspondent Kristyn Burtt tweeted last week that she wouldn't be surprised to see her as part of the cast since "'DWTS' is a good comeback" vehicle.

Another possible contender is Olympic champion Simone Biles, who said last fall that she'd love to take part in a future season of the show.

'DWTS' pro picks her dream celebrity partners

At least one of the show's talented pro dancers has also joined in on the "DWTS" season 24 cast speculation. Emma Slater --who last performed alongside former Texas governor Rick Perry and is likely to return this spring for another go at the trophy-- named a trio of dream partners via a Jan.

11 tweet: actor and comedian Russell Brand, "Storage Wars" star Barry Weiss, and "Property Brothers" star Jonathan Scott. Note that to date, none have expressed interested in competing.

Keep an eye open for spoilers as they emerge over the coming weeks, and catch the "Dancing with the Stars" 2017 premiere on March 20.
