This weekend, "Saturday Night Live" is all-new with comedian Aziz Ansari serving as the host, and rapper Big Sean as the nights musical guest.
First-timers
This will be the first time that funny man Aziz Ansari will take on the hosting duties of "Saturday Night Live." Ansari is also the first person of South Asian descent to host the late night sketch comedy show. Ansari is excited to make his hosting debut and his fans will surely be tuning in to see how he does. Although it is his first time hosting this show, the 33-year-old actor is no staranger to hosting duties.
In 2010, Azari hosted the "MTV Movie Awards."
Ansari has starred in many well known movies and television shows including "Funny People," Get Him to the Greek," and "30 minutes or Less." He spent six years on the Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominated sitcom "Parks and Recreation." His most recent project is as co-creator, along with Alan Yang, of the Netlix series "Master of None." The series has wrapped up the second season and the release date should be announced soon. Ansari won an Emmy Award for "outstanding writing for a comedy series" for his work on "Master of None," and the show received a total of four nominations.
It's also the first time that musician Big Sean will perform on "SNL." Big Sean has a new album, his fourth, coming out on February 3.
A North American tour will follow this spring, kicking off on March 17 in Houston, Texas at the Revention Music Center. The tour will make stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Atlanta and more. On April 20, the tour will come to a close at the Filmore Miami Beach in sunny Miami, Florida.
