"The Voice" 2016 continued Oct. 24 on NBC with the first six Knockout Round match-ups, which featured contestants representing all four super star mentors. By episode's end, the six winners plus two aspiring artists stolen by a pair of long-time coaches had stamped their tickets to the top 20. Here's a quick look at who advanced, and a glance at how their respective covers ranked on the iTuneschart when the broadcast commenced on the west coast.

Six win, two are stolen

Country star Blake Shelton's team contested just a single face-off on night one of the Knockouts, and Sundance Head's version of mentor Miley Cyrus' "The Climb" defeated Josh Gallagher's take on "My Maria." Head became Shelton's first top 20-bound contestant, but Gallagher also advanced as Maroon5 frontman Adam Levine used his single save to extend his competition life.

Shelton returned the favor by claiming former Team Adam member Jason Warrior after he lost his battle with Riley Elmore.

Otherhopefuls who advanced included Team Adam's Simone Gundy, who defeated Dave Moisan; Team Alicia Keys' Kylie Rothfield and We McDonald, who bested Whitney & Shannon and Courtnie Ramirez; and Team Miley's Ali Caldwell, who advanced over Lauren Diaz.
