The most-anticipated Kannada movie of the year "Nagarahavu" starring late superstar Vishnuvardhan, was released all around India on October 14, 2016. The film which created maximum pre-release hype after the trailer release is creating storms at the box-office, and as per latest updates, most of the screens in Karnataka are witnessing 100% attendance.

Touted to be the 201st film of Sahasa Simha Vishnuvardhan, the makers have done full justice in their attempt in creating the digital version of the deceased Superstar. The film also marks the comeback of actress-turned-politician Ramya (Divya Spandana) to the silver screen.

The movie had mixed reactions from viewers as most of the scenes were edited graphically. The word of mouth is good but due to the limited role of the superstar, the audience is hesitant to watch the movie.

"Nagarahavu" was released in more than 1600 screens thus making the biggest Kannada release of all times.

Considering the positive responses it is fetching from theatres; it will surely break all opening weekend records which prevail in Sandalwood.

By the end of this weekend, this movie will surely collect more than Rs 20 Crores, and has the potential to enter the 100 Crore club in the long run.

Vishnuvardhan passed away due to a massive heart attack in 2009. He is survived by his wife Bharati and two adopted daughters.
