“Dancing With The Stars” contestant Maureen McCormick may be facing an additional challenge heading into Week 3 of the competition. The buzz is that she injured her back earlier this week and “DWTS” fans hope that this doesn't affect her ability to continue on in Season 23 with partner Artem Chigvintsev.
What's known about the 'DWTS' star's injury?
Nothing official has been shared yet, but according to the Jenna Johnson Fan Twitter account, Maureen McCormick was injured earlier this week and needed an x-ray. In addition, the word is that the “Dancing With the Stars”contestant was also going to get an MRI.
That sounds like potentially scary news, but so far, the “DWTS” star herself hasn't revealed anything about any issues via her social media pages.
In fact, Maureen's Twitter page has detailed a heavy radio blitz over the past couple of days, so she is forging ahead even if she is dealing with an injury. Both McCormick and Chigvintsev have been posting a lot to rally support for their team and they haven't given any hints of problems with an injury that could sideline their march toward a Season 23 win.
Can Maureen and Artem avoid elimination?
This is a tough season of competition, with the likes of Ryan Lochte and Laurie Hernandez in the mix of things, but so far, “DWTS” fans are loving Maureen.
“The Brady Bunch” star is charming viewers and everybody is rooting for her to stick around for a while. She and Artem avoided elimination in Week 2, despite being in jeopardy initially. According to PureDWTS, they will tackle a dance-off against Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Amber Rose in Week 3 and they will be dancing a salsa using the Gloria Estefan song “Tres Deseos.”
