Although "Taxi" alum Marilu Henner was saved to dance again during last night's "Dancing With The Stars" 2016 results show on ABC, one friend of the actresswas less than pleased with the way the 64-year old reality TV contestant was treated by her professional dance partner, six-time Mirrorball Trophy winner Derek Hough. Holly Robinson Peete, who starred in the mid-'90s sitcom "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper," issued her complaint via Twitter, and her words drew reactions fromplenty of show fans, including Henner herself.

Derek Hough not 'encouraging' enough?

Ostensibly referencing Hough's behind-the-scenes comment to Henner that she'd made several mistakesduring their Sept. 26 tango Face-Off battle --which the duo lost to Olympic gold medalist Laurie Hernandez and Valentin Chmerkovskiy-- Robinson Peete's tweet read "Um @derekhoughwasn't very nice to my girl @TheRealMariluBut they got through so maybe he'll start being more encouraging #DWTSijs"

Fans of the 31-year old Emmy-winning pro dancer who saw the tweet were quick to jump to his defense, with several noting that "DWTS" 2016 producers likely edited the footage to make it seem like Hough's words were unkind. Tweeter NurseRatchetM6K summed up the thoughts of many by remarking "Clearly you do not know how contrived DWTS is nor the stella[r], classy young man Derek is..."

PureDerekHough, a fan site devoted to supporting the dancer, also sounded off on the complaint by tweeting "I do wish so-called celebrities would encourage their followers to vote for their friend Marilu, instead of mis-directing them w/BS."

Henner defends Hough

Although Robinson Peete, 52, held to her opinion, the always-positive Henner herself largely ignored the remark and instead responded with an invitation, tweeting "Hey @hollyrpeeteI love that you're such a Mama Bear!

Please come to#DWTSI'd love to see you!#YouKnowThisWorld#CrazyHardWorkButSoWorthIt" At roughly the same time, Henner also repliedto a separate tweet from a "Dancing with the Stars" fan, calling Derek Hough "the BEST!" and assuring followers that he is "Creative, encouraging, exacting, loving, & supportive! We have the same high bar for our team & I love that!"

To date, Henner and Hough rank fifth overall on the "Dancing with the Stars" 2016 judges' leaderboard with 84 pointstotal awarded acrosstheir three routines.

The season 23 lead belongs to Hernandez and Chmerkovskiy, who have earned 94 points since the season began.
