The Unbreakable Janet Jackson tour is postponed due to an undisclosed surgery for the iconic singer. Jackson, 49, put the announcement out on both her official website and her social media pages on Friday. The Janet Jackson tour is postponed until at least the spring, with no new dates announced as yet.
Jackson has not given out any information regarding what type of surgery she needs or how complicated it could be, and has only asked fans and followers for their support and prayers.
She said that no other information on her medical issues was going to be put out, except to say the Jackson tour is postponed until further notice. The next date of the Unbreakable tour was set for January 9th in Denver, Colorado, but is now cancelled along with all future dates.
Unbreakable was ranking in Top 20 for global tours prior to cancellation
Prior to its cancellation, the Unbreakable tour was ranked in the Top 20 for global concerts by Pollstar. Janet’s hit music is from the middle of the 1980's to today, and includes hits like “What Have You Done for Me Lately," as well as "That's the Way Love Goes" and "All for You."
Jackson promised fans that all of the cancelled tour dates would be rescheduled.
Plus, all of the tickets that have already been sold will be honored and she will do something special for those fans. New dates will be announced sometime in the spring of 2016.
Jackson sent fans holiday greetings and well wishes prior to message
Jackson found out she had to have surgery on Christmas Day. The singer put some Happy Holiday wishes on her Twitter account to fans, and put out the message about her surgery need shortly afterwards. She said she was very heartbroken to have to postpone the Unbreakable tour.
Back in October, Jackson had to postpone some of her concerts because doctors wanted her to rest her vocal cords. However, it isn’t known if this undisclosed surgery has anything to do with that issue. All that's known for now is that the Unbreakable Janet Jackson tour is postponed indefinitely.
