Lately, there has been some major speculation over what party Sanders will run for in the Senate, but it was settled today that he will not be running for Senate as a Democrat. Instead, Sanders will run for re-election in the Senate as an independent because he has always run as an independent.
The U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders is still trying to revive the dead-in-the-water Democratic Party and has brought focus on local elections in Somerville, MA.
Whitehouse drama spells trouble for the nation
With trump’s numerous blunders in the press and the White House drama, could this spell bad luck for Trump in 2020?
After sexual assault accusations made by several women earlier this week, many believe that Sanders will be a formidable force in the 2020 election if he chooses to run against Trump.
That was not all that has been in the press this last week that may give Sanders or one of Trump’s many adversaries a one-up in the coming 2020 election. The lack of compassion or emotion that we saw Trump give when making a gold-star widow, Myeshia Johnson, utterly distraught during a phone call when he couldn’t even remember her husband’s name.
At war with the press
What’s more, President Trump has been waging war on journalists and news outlets since he secured the presidency over the allegations of collusion with Russia.
Today, however, journalists spoke out and fought back, hard. CNN and Wall Street Journal have now started to fight back against the constant accusations and mindless ramblings of the unstable president who wants to crack down on journalism and free press, using propaganda much in the way that communists have in the past.
CNN recently posted an AD that did not name Trump directly but got their message across clearly without a doubt being a comeback against Trump.
Earlier today, an editor of the Wall Street Journal got up and personal with Trump. “The President’s primary problem as a leader isn’t that he is brash and stupid, It is that he is weak and sniveling. It is that he undermines himself almost daily by ignoring traditional norms and forms of American masculinity,” Wrote Wall Street Journalist Peggy Noonan.
Freedom of speech and 'fake news'
We can hope that the two major news outlets can put a hush-hush on Trump’s "Fake News” outcries as they not only defend themselves but defend our rights to Freedom Of Speech as well - a right that was guaranteed by our constitution since the founding of this beautiful country.
As we look forward to this week, will Sanders answer the question if he plans to run as opposition in the 2020 election? Will the press finally silence Trump once and for all with his accusations of “Fake News?” This has been an exciting and dramatic start to the week.
