The Buffalo Bills are off to a roaring start. At 3-1, they lead the AFC East. The Bills' defense has been red zone tough over the last four weeks. As stated by CBS Sports, Buffalo has only given up 54 points this season. They have also only allowed a single touchdown pass. If the Bills’ defense can play their best game today against the Cincinnati Bengals, the team will be 4-1 and only a few games away from a playoff shot. Offensively, it be will be tougher, as wide receiver Jordan Matthews is out with a thumb injury. However, running back Lesean Mccoy is due for a 100-plus yard day.

A big game by Shady could give Buffalo the winning edge.

Shady getting stuffed by defenses

It has been a rough start for McCoy. After racking up over 150 yards of rushing and receiving during the Bills’ opener against the New York Jets, Shady was stuffed by the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos. For both games, the running back only totaled 30 yards of rushing. McCoy started to bounce back last week against the Atlanta Falcons with 76 yards, as stated by Pro Football Focus. Cordy Glenn’s injury may be factoring into McCoy’s struggles. Glenn may be playing today, which could lift the running game for the team.

The bright spot for McCoy has been his help catching the ball. He has over 160 yards receiving for the season.

The Buffalo wide receiving core has been its weakest link. Second round pick Zay Jones has experienced some struggles with dropped passes. Jordan Matthews is out for about four weeks. That leaves Andre Holmes and Kaelin Clay as the starters. Holmes has held his own with a pair of touchdowns. Clay is still finding his way with the Buffalo offense.

He has one reception for the year. Another wide receiver injury could have fans asking for Brandon Reilly to be promoted from the practice squad.

Charles Clay needs to keep being Gronk-like

The New England Patriots have relied on Rob Gronkowski to beat offenses. His huge size has caused problems for many defenses. Last week, tight end Charles Clay and Tyrod Taylor connected for over 100 yards.

Clay is a tough matchup for opposing cornerbacks and safeties. The team will probably need another big day from the tight end to beat the Bengals. Cincinnati’s wide receiver A.J. Green has good hands and can force Buffalo into an offensive shootout. The Bills have been relying on Stephen Hauschka Taylor must be on target and take some risks throwing down the field.

Good luck, Buffalo Bills.
