During the offseason, the Buffalo Bills were pegged as the laughingstock of the AFC East by sports writers and the media. The team has been gutted of wide receivers Sammy Watkins, Robert Woods, and Marquise Goodwin. Fans felt the sting of watching Mike Gillislee jump ship for the New England Patriots. Stephon Gilmore also left for Buffalo’s AFC East rival as well. Anquan Boldin only lasted for 13 days with the team before retiring. A rebuilding and losing season seemed inevitable. Fast forward to Week 4. The Buffalo just knocked off the Atlanta Falcons on the road with a 23-17 win.

The Bills beat the Denver Broncos last week. Now, the media and Nfl Network are finally taking notice of a team that was expected to go nowhere, but is now 3-1 and the leader of the AFC East.

Kyle Brandt dishes out love

Bills fans had grown frustrated with the lack of time that NFL Network has devoted to Bills’ highlights. That all changed yesterday with the Buffalo victory. “Good Morning Football” host Kyle Brandt talked up Buffalo’s win over Atlanta. Said Brandt about the Bills, “I feel like I have a special relationship with them. A lot, a lot of years in sports radio. Buffalo callers are like any other kind of callers. They call in. They’re always so optimistic about their team. . . This is awesome.”

Brandt continued to praise the Bills and their shocking upsets with his words, “The Bills are not just jumping on the table.

They’re flipping tables in the AFC East. Shocking win, and I’m so fired up for Buffalo.”

Awesome is what many people are calling the Buffalo defense and their victory over Atlanta. The team’s addition of safety Micah Hyde has been a helping puzzle piece. Hyde intercepted quarterback Matt Ryan twice yesterday. One of the picks was a diving catch after a Ryan pass was deflected and Hyde’s run back helped set up a Stephen Hauschka field goal.

The kicker was 3 of 3 for the day and he has been a bright spot for the Bills and an upgrade from former kicker Dan Carpenter, who missed a bunch of extra points and field goals last season.

Nate Burleson chimes in with song

Co-host Nate Burleson also showed some love for Buffalo by singing the “Bills, Bills, Bills” song by Destiny’s Child.

He gave kudos to Tyrod Taylor and said that he respects the team. Respect has been a long time coming for Buffalo, who has watched the New England Patriots dominate the AFC East for the past 17 years. With the Patriots defense one of the worst in the league this year, the chances of Buffalo winning the division this season are more realistic than what seemed possible during the offseason. New England is now 2-2 and in third place in the division. NFL Network honored the Bills by showing a photo of the AFC East Standings on their “Good Morning Football” segment.

The Bills face the Cincinnati Bengals next Sunday. Another victory would mean a 4-1 record and probably more coverage on NFL Network. Good luck, Buffalo.
