So far, a lot of great albums released in 2017. Kendrick Lamar, Migos, Kodak Black, Lil Uzi Vert, Jay-Z, and many other artists released great music. With a few months left, there are still some highly anticipated albums that have not yet released. There have been confirmed projects and speculated projects set to release before the year ends. Here are some anticipated projects that I'm excited to hear.
Mr. Davis
Gucci Mane played a key role in the wave of hip-hop today. A lot of new age rappers use the trap sound he created. While Gucci was in jail, multiple rappers copied his sound and style.
Now free, Gucci Mane has released multiple singles and featured on many projects. Earlier this year, he released a mixtape called DropTopWop. It was a good project and I recommend you listen to it if you haven't already. On October 13th, the highly anticipated album, Mr. Davis, releases. I'm expecting a more introspective album that discusses his time in jail.
Asap Rocky's album
Asap Rocky is considered the best rapper out of the rap group, ASAP Mob. His previous projects prove he is one of the top rappers of this generation. With the release of Cozy Tapes Vol 2., fans wondered when is ASAP Rocky going to release his next studio album. Rocky answered these questions by saying he promises to release an album before the end of the year.
If you are not familiar with his music, I recommend you listen to Long. Live. ASAP.
Cardi B's album
Cardi B took the hip-hop community by storm. Previously being a stripper, no one expected her to be successful, especially in this male-dominated industry. She is the first female rapper since Lauryn Hill in 1998 to have a number one single on the Billboard Top 100.
She's been nominated and won multiple music awards. All of these accolades give high expectations to her upcoming debut album. Rumored to release by the end of 2017, I expect Cardi B to do well.
Culture 2
Migos is an Atlanta hip-hop group that reached a mainstream appeal in 2016. Their single "Bad and Boujee" from their album Culture pushed the group into today's most prominent hip-hop trio.
The first Culture album released early 2017 and received great reviews. Migos decided to continue the work ethic and release a sequel set to release before the end of 2017. Migos is the hottest group out right now and it seems like their success isn't slowing down anytime soon. I don't know if Culture 2 can live up to the expectations of its predecessor but, I know the album will be great.
