"Game of Thrones" Season 7 Episode 5 left fans wanting more, as the latest serving of the HBO hit TV series is now halfway through its run. Learn more details about the recent Easter eggs that were disclosed in "Eastwatch."
Per Bustle, it can be recalled that the "Game of Thrones" Season 7 premiere showed the Hound gazing into the fire and seeing a mountain that "looked like an arrowhead." Now, as the show moves forward, it can be seen that Jon Snow and his newly assembled team (kind of had "The Fellowship of the Ring" vibes, didn't it?) What could possibly await the King in the North and his entourage?
(Gendry, Beric Dondarrion, Jorah Mormont, Sandor Clegane, Thoros of Myr, and Tormund Giantsbane).
The White Walkers and the Children of the Forest
Did you know that this was not the peak's first appearance? Very observant fans will be able to recall that it also appeared in Bran's greenseeing trips with the Three-Eyed Raven. This was back when the youngest Stark sibling discovered the origins of the very first White Walker.
Bustle added that this can be connected with how the icy creatures were created by the Children of the Forest to use in their war as weapons against the First Men. Remember when it was shown in the series how the ceremony took place? A dragonglass dagger is plunged into the hear of the sacrificial person - in a place where the infamous peak could be seen in the background.
Although that scene was done in lush greenery, as opposed to the snowy and frigid adventure Jon Snow and his group are facing now. Could it be that the White Walkers bring the cold with them?
The return of Gendry Waters
Speaking of Gendry, were you happy that he's back? The return of Arya Stark's friend was among the episode's highlights, as well as Cersei's baby announcement to Jamie.
Gendry, (played by Joe Dempsie) was expected to return to "Game of Thrones" but actually seeing him onscreen was still delightful for fans. According to Vanity Fair, several theories are at play. One major reason Jon Snow's team possibly needed Gendry is because he is a smith who can make some weapons out of Valyrian steel - aka the only weapon, aside from dragonglass to fight against White Walkers.
To add to that, could it be possible that Gendry is also of Targaryen lineage? Maybe he could be the rider of the third dragon. His parentage is really interesting as well, but it's better to discuss that in another article.
Meanwhile, are you excited for next week? Here's a preview for the latest season's upcoming episode, "Death is the Enemy."
