Trump on Barbara Bush
At her Texas home on Tuesday afternoon, Barbara Bush died at the age of 92. The former first lady had been a well-respected individual and spent four years serving in the White House during the presidency of her husband, George H.W.
Bush from 1989 until 1993, and also during his time as vice president throughout the majority of the 1980s. In recent years, Barbara Bush had been vocal when it came to politics, taking subtle jabs at Donald Trump by not understanding how women "can vote for someone who said what he said about Megyn Kelly." Bush spent years focusing on universal literacy, and even went as far as to create the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy. However, she had recently suffered from congestive heart failure and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, and after denying additional care earlier this week, she passed away at her home in Texas.
Surprised this didn't get shared more at the time. Maybe because back then so many thought he would inevitably lose and disappear. Barbara Bush unfiltered on Trump. "I don't know how women can vote" for him, she says. pic.twitter.com/IWK42SmGo7

Just moments after the news broke of Barbara Bush's passing, Donald Trump quickly took to Twitter to give his thoughts on behalf of himself and First Lady Melania Trump.
"Melania and I join the Nation in celebrating the life of Barbara Bush," Trump tweeted, while attaching a statement prepared by his office. "She will be long remembered for her strong devotion to country and family, both of which she served unfailingly well," the statement read, before concluding with the first couple offering their thoughts and prayers to the Bush family.
