President Donald Trump has been dogged by one scandal after the next since he announced his desire to run for the presidency. Each time, he's managed to weather the public relations storm and escape unharmed. He has certainly earned the nickname "Teflon Don" as he continues to dodge one political grenade after the next.

The latest scandal to hit the White House involves a payment allegedly made by one of Trump's lawyers to an adult film star back in 2006. The lawyers brokered a $130,000 payment to an adult film actress. Reportedly, the pay off was to keep the woman silent about an alleged affair the two had over a decade ago.

For the record, Trump married current wife Melania in 2005.

Who is Stormy Daniels?

The woman at the center of all of this, Stephanie Clifford, has made a living on screen going by the name "Stormy Daniels." She supposedly met Trump at a charity golf outing in 2006. Whether or not the two actually had a sexual encounter is unclear.

Leading up to the 2016 presidential election, Clifford was in talks with several news publications about a story involving her relationship with Trump. She reached the settlement about a month before the election and then declined to comment further.

Trump's longtime lawyer Michael Cohen was charged with arranging the hush money with Clifford's lawyer. However, Trump and Clifford both deny the allegations.

Cohen even produced a signed statement from "Stormy Daniels" indicating that she did not have any type of relationship with the future president and received no hush money.

Yet another scandal

President Trump is no stranger to political turmoil. His short presidency has seen numerous scandals that would have destroyed the careers of most politicians.

However, Trump has managed to sidestep any allegation and continue with his presidential aspirations.

It is worth noting that despite this story not coming out before the election, a similar story did. Another Trump ally, David Pecker of the National Enquirer, supposedly paid another woman, Karen McDougal, $150,000 to keep quiet about a fling with Trump over a decade ago.

Trump also denied those allegations as well.

This new report not only calls into question his presidential qualifications, but also his standing as a husband. If the allegations are true, he could be looking at a potential divorce.

For a presidency that has broken all of the norms regarding how a president should behave and conduct himself, it would be fitting to see him be the first president to go through a divorce while still in the White House.
