Following Donald Trump's State of the Union, Democrats decided that Massachusetts Rep. Joe Kennedy Iii would give the offical party rebuttal. After doing so, the latest Kennedy to rise up in the world of politics received rave reviews.

Kennedy on Trump

During Donald Trump's State of the Union address on Tuesday night, the president took a different approach than what is typically seen in his random posts on Twitter. "This is our New American Moment. There has never been a better time to start living the American dream," Trump said, in an attempt to paint his presidency with a more positive light.

Trump went on to say that he would help build America to become "safe, strong, and proud," while saying that "Americans love their country" and that they deserve a government that will "show them the same love" in return. As expected, Trump also highlighted his top achievements, including passing tax reform and dealing with trade issues. In response, Democrats turned their attention to Rep. Joe Kennedy, the grandson of former Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, as reported by CBS News on January 30.

Just moments after Donald Trump concluded his State of the Union, Joe Kennedy gave the offical response for the Democratic Party.

"It would be easy to dismiss this past year as chaos, partisanship, as politics. But it's far, far bigger than that," Kennedy said. "We all feel the fault lines of a fractured country. We hear the voices of Americans who feel forgotten and forsaken," he added. "This administration isn't just targeting the laws that protect us," he stated.

Reaction to Kennedy

Joe Kennedy's response to the State of the Union was quickly praised on social media, as critics of Donald Trump appeared thrilled with the young congressman's stance.

"This Joe Kennedy response makes me proud to be a Democrat. Democrats are the party of JFK & Obama. Republicans are the party of Donald Trump. That says it all," one tweet read.

"Joe Kennedy's speech has been on 5 minutes and blows you and yours away. You should aspire to be more like him," a Twitter user sent to Donald Trump.

"(JK) would be the best speaker in the 2020 field if he took the leap. This speech is magical," yet another tweet added.

"If the next occupant of the WH isn't a Kennedy, America may truly go to hell in a hand-basket. I just hope by then the world has extracted herself from America so that she doesn't get dragged down into an American sh*thole. (JK) is truly impressive and inspiring," a follow-up tweet added," an additional tweet went on to note.
