Over the weekend, Donald Trump left the United States to kick off a 12-day trip to various countries in Asia. After sending out multiple tweets on the matter, the president's critics wasted no time firing back.

Trump on Twitter

Once it became apparent that Donald Trump was going to be a serious candidate for president, many questioned how he would handle to the job on the world stage. During the 2016 presidential election, Trump would often cause controversy with his questionable campaign style and rhetoric, which included lashing out at the mainstream media, his political opponents, Hollywood celebrities, and other world leaders.

Once the former host of "The Apprentice" locked in the presidency with a win over Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton last November, reality set in that a new brand era of politics was entering the White House. In the 10 months that's he's been in office, Trump has been surrounded by a constant stream of scandal and drama, ranging from a wide variety of issues, including the ongoing investigation into whether or not Russia hacked the general election in his favor. In addition to issues at home, Trump has caused trouble around the world, including his war of words with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. With trouble not far behind, Trump took off on his longest trip to date over the weekend, where he landed first in Tokyo.

As seen on his Twitter account on November 6, Trump appeared to be pleased with how his trip has been going so far.

Taking to Twitter on Monday night, Donald Trump decided to give an update on how his foreign trip to Asia has started off.

"My visit to Japan and friendship with PM Abe will yield many benefits, for our great Country. Massive military & energy orders happening+++!" Trump tweeted out.

"Getting ready to leave for South Korea and meetings with President Moon, a fine gentleman," Donald Trump posted, before stating, "We will figure it all out!" "I have great confidence in King Salman and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, they know exactly what they are doing," he went on to wrote, while adding, "Some of those they are harshly treating have been “milking” their country for years!"

Critics respond

Not long after Donald Trump sent out his round of tweets about his time so far in Asia, those who oppose the president spoke out.

"Really, we would a more graceful, dignified, and worthy nation if you stayed away," Howard Forman tweeted.

"What do you plan to talk to Putin about?

Do you plan on having a third party attend as well or will it be secret?" one tweet asked in reference to the planned meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. "I would like to apologize to President Moon for having to endure Trump! Most of us voted against him. Trump does not represent who we are!" another tweet stated.

"Kind of like you have been doing here for years!?" an additional tweet stated, in response to Donald Trump's tweet about other countries "milking" Saudi Arabia.

"If the Japanese people like you so much maybe they’ll just let you stay there! That would make America great again!" yet another Twitter user wrote. As more replies were posted to the president's feed, it became apparent that many Americans were not going to hold back their thoughts at anytime in the near future.
