Over the last week, Donald Trump has found a way to increase his use of social media. In his latest tweetstorm, the president decided to turn his attention to North Korea and leader Kim Jong-un.

Trump on North Korea

When Donald Trump first announced his plan to run for president, he made it clear that he would not hold back his thoughts no matter what topic came up. With the exception of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump found himself ripping into several world leaders on a semi-regular basis.

However, Trump's views on North Korean leader Kim Jong-un have been mixed, as the former host of "The Apprentice" has offered criticism and praise since he kicked off his campaign for president back in June 2015. Despite this, Trump has increased his criticism on North Korea ever since the country has decided to launch several missile strikes since the start of the year. On Sunday, it was reported that North Korea fired yet another test missile, prompting Trump to tweet about the issue on July 3.

Taking to his Twitter account on Sunday night was Donald Trump, and the president made an ironic and controversial remark.

"North Korea has just launched another missile," Trump tweeted, before asking, "Does this guy have anything better to do with his life?"

In the second part of his tweet, Donald Trump pushed forward. "Hard to believe that South Korea and Japan will put up with this much longer," Trump wrote on Twitter, while adding, "Perhaps China will put a heavy move on North Korea and end this nonsense once and for all!"

As expected, Donald Trump's tweets about North Korea didn't go over well with his critics who were quick to lash out on social media. "You TWEETING 'Does this guy have anything better to do with his life?' is the absolute height of irony!" Jules Suzdaltsev replied, before noting, "Why can't you ever take a diplomatic solution to things like this?

Why do you have to TAUNT a crazed ruler with nuclear weapons?"

"Do you have anything better to do than egging on WW3 on Twitter? Celebrating USA's B-Day? Or working in the situation room?" director Adam Best posted on Twitter. "You do not care about America's safety. Totally reckless," Nathan Bernard wrote. "Prob better you talk to the FBI and Congress about this and not tweet us into WW3," Tony Posnanski suggested.

"Stop trying to start a war to distract from your treason," Clayburn Griffin tweeted back. The backlash poured in fast, as the division in the Untied States was made more than clear.
