Blasting News reported on the story of Hailey Burns, who had been found after going missing from her home at the age of 16 over a year ago. Police had tracked down the North Carolina teenager, now 17, to a home in Duluth, Georgia on Saturday and Michael Ren Wysolovski, 31, was taken into custody, where he is facing several serious charges. It turns out a Romanian woman was responsible for the teenager being found after she befriended the teen online.
Reward of $15,000 offered by the FBI
The FBI had offered a $15,000 reward to anyone who could provide leads to assist in finding the teenager.
While it is not clear from the media if the Romanian woman was seeking that reward, she met Burns online and had befriended her. The teenager told the woman that she was missing from her home and that she had no idea where she was. This prompted the woman to ask Burns to take a photo out of the window of Wysolovski’s home and post it online.

Within hours of receiving the photo, the Romanian woman, who has not been identified, got in touch with Burns’ parents. This led to investigators discovering the girl’s whereabouts that same day.
Burns has since been united with her family in Ballantyne, North Carolina. According to a report by WSB-TV Atlanta, in the process it was discovered that a neighbor had no idea the teenager was being kept captive, even when she greeted him while he was unloading groceries from his car.
‘Dream come true’ to have the teenager back at home
Shaunna Burns, Hailey’s mother, said it was like a dream come true when her daughter was finally found. WCNC-TV reports that when the teenager went missing in June 2016, her family said she had been diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome and that the girl did not have her medication with her when she left her home.

Hailey’s father, Anthony Burns had reportedly attempted to limit his daughter’s social media usage after finding the teenager was connecting with strangers online. However, as reported by Blasting News, when Hailey disappeared, her family found a diary she had left behind, speaking of her plans to run away with a man (Wysolovski) she had met on social media. Burns’ father said at the time that the man had coerced the teenager into ignoring her parents’ wishes and running away with him.
After his arrest, Wysolovski was charged with false imprisonment, cruelty to children and aggravated sodomy relating to Hailey’s disappearance. According to a report by Fox News, Wysolovski was denied bail by the judge in court on Monday and his next court hearing is reportedly scheduled for July 7.
