Melania Trump moved to the White House in Washington, D.C. just a few short weeks ago, but she went back to Trump Tower in New York City on Wednesday. Daily Mail photographers caught the First Lady as she was exiting the building on Wednesday afternoon. What was she there for?
First lady back in NYC soon after move to Washington
According to the report, Melania Trump was trying to hide her appearance after she was discovered exiting Trump Tower. She had on a trench coat despite the temperature being a warm 80 degrees. When cameras began snapping photos of her, she put on sunglasses.
At that point, it was too late. If she tried to keep it a secret that she was in town, it didn't work.
Melania got into a black SUV that was waiting for her outside the skyscraper just after 2 p.m. It's unknown why Mrs. Trump went back New York, but her stay was quite brief. There wasn't an exact time reported of when she actually arrived.
Why was Melania in town?
The big question is why she was seen back at home so soon after moving to Washington. Was there something some unfinished business she needed to do that needed her full attention? With all of the resources and help she has at her disposal, it must have been important for Melania Trump to return home. Perhaps she had an after-school meeting with one of Barron's teachers.
First lady likes living at the White House
How does Melania like living at the White House? The first lady told "Fox and Friends" last week that she's "enjoying" her new home and that Barron "loves it." She didn't seem to miss New York, telling the program that she keeps so busy that she hasn't had much time to think about it.
The 47-year-old went on to say that there's a lot of "great stuff" she's involved with.
President slips up by complimenting female reporter
The report couldn't help but note that Melania going back to Trump Tower a day after her husband made headlines for flirting with an Irish news reporter while he was on the phone with Ireland's newly elected Prime Minister Leo Varadkar.
The president summoned RTE reporter, Caitriona Perry, over to his desk to ask where she was from and complimented her "nice smile." She took the compliment in good humor, but it was seen as an awkward moment for Perry.
Donald Trump hasn't been under fire for his treatment of women since he was sworn into office. When it comes to that part of his job, he's been well-behaved. He slipped a little when he paused in the middle of an official phone call to compliment a woman in the Oval Office.
Are you surprised to hear that Melania Trump went back to New York City only a few weeks after getting settled in at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue?
