Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and US President Donald Trump have a bit of a checkered history and a new development might further strain their relationship.A video has now emerged that shows Turnbull mocking the President's mannerisms and also has a dig at the FBI's probe into the Trump campaigns ties to Russia.

An embarrassing video

The video is from a closed-door meeting that the Australian Pm had with select journalists and government officials. However, it seems that someone had recorded the embarrassing bits from the video that now threatens to create further discord between Trump and Turnbull. During the meeting, he was asked about his show in the opinion polls and his reply seemed to be a direct dig at Trump, “They are so easy to win.

I have this Russian guy...believe me, it’s true, it’s true.”. The meeting was held at The Lodge, the official residence of Australian Prime Ministers.

The bombshell story was broken by the political editor of Nine News, Laurie Oakes to the mainstream media in Australia. Before long the story spread like wildfire. Those present at the meeting had been told that the meeting was off the record and was not meant for any kind of reporting. However, things did not turn out that way.

Turnbull denied any talk of rift

Turnbull and Trump had earlier had a bit of a tiff over the phone a few months back when the latter put the phone down during a conversation regarding refugee resettlement.

However, Turnbull later denied any talk a rift between the US President and himself by stating that his comments were light-hearted and affectionate towards Trump. Additionally, he went on to say that following the leaks it is him who is now the 'brunt of my jokes'. Considering the fact that Donald Trump is known to react to any perceived slights, it is possible that he might respond through his Twitter account. Keep your eyes peeled for those.

Although it is true that most people believe this whole thing will blow over with time, it is important to point out that the Russian investigation is a sensitive topic for the President. He has called it the biggest witch hunt in US political history and might not like the fact that other world leaders are mocking him behind his back regarding the whole thing.
