On Monday, the internet went viral as a video was released that showed Melania Trump swatting away Donald Trump's attempt at holding hands. For the second day in a row, social media is having a field day as the first lady appeared to once again deny her husband's advances.

When Donald Trump first announced he was running for president, the consensus from most of the media and the American people was that his candidacy was nothing more than cheap attempt at gaining attention for his reality show. As the months moved on, however, the former host of "The Apprentice" became popular, which was evident when he locked up the GOP nomination at the Republican National Convention last summer.

It was that same convention when Melania Trump was highlighted in a controversial speech that was later accused of plagiarizing former First Lady Michelle Obama. Since then, Melania has remained out of the spotlight, opting to live in New York City with 10-year-old son Barron Trump instead of at the White House. During that time, the pressure has mounted on the president, with constant scandal and controversy surrounding his administration. On Friday, Trump left the United States for his first foreign trip as president, and decided to bring his wife along with him. After arriving at an Israeli airport earlier this week, the Trumps were mocked on social media when Melania refused to hold hands with the billionaire real estate mogul.

In a case of deja vu, the scene repeated itself on May 23, as Twitter users were quick to point out the incident.

As the First Couple landed in Rome on Tuesday, Donald Trump and Melania Trump were exiting Air Force One as the president reached to hold the first lady's hand.

In yet another case of apparent embarrassment, Melania pushed back at Trump's attempt, and instead brushed her hair out of her face.

In response to the second day in a row of hand holding denial, social media users couldn't wait to mock Donald Trump.

"She's the Queen of Hand Shade," Rick Wilson wrote on his Twitter account.

"She just keeps dodging that little hand," another social media user wrote. "Oops, she did it again. Melania has unmistakably joined the Resistance," a follow-up tweet went on to point out. "Obvious Melania has flushed the Viagra down the toilet," an additional tweet noted.

"Melania goes 2-for-2 in refusing to touch this gross monster," another social media user wrote on Twitter.

" I believe that Melania Trump slapped his hand away bc he's an unfit husband przdnt & leader for anything in his life," another tweet read. As the mockery continued, it became clear that opposition to Donald Trump was not going to come to an end anytime soon.
