While Donald Trump usually dominates the headlines when it comes to his family, that hasn't been the case in recent days. First Daughter Ivanka Trump has had a busy Tuesday, which included a report that a Chinese factory that produces he clothing line is paying workers low wages.

Ivanka busted

When it became clear that Donald Trump was going to become the new President of the United States, many wondered what role his family would have in the administration.

Trump's sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, have remained mostly involved with the president's business dealings, but that isn't the case for Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner. The former host of "The Apprentice" made the decision to give security clearance to both Ivanka and Kushner, with his son-in-law given multiple duties to handle, mostly involving foreign policy where he is often present during important meetings with other world leaders. Ivanka's role, on the other hand, is not so well-defined, as she is seen as an adviser who is close to her father and able to push him in various directions depending on the issue at hand.

On Tuesday morning, Ivanka made her first foreign trip on behalf of the White House, appearing at the W20 summit in Berlin, Germany to discuss women's issues. After name-dropping her father, Ivanka was quickly booed, which then went viral on social media. Not long after, Time Magazine reported on April 25 that one of the factories that produces the first daughter's clothing line was caught paying wages that are below the poverty line.

According to Time, workers at a knitting factory in China who make clothes for Ivanka Trump are working as much as 60 hours a week, but are only receiving an average weekly paycheck of only $62, with an hourly pay of just over $1. In addition, the factory has been found to have violated close to a dozen safety and health standards that have been set but the United Nations International Labor Organization.

Twitter reaction

Upon hearing the news of the low wages, Twitter was quick to respond with trolling of the first daughter and newly hired White House adviser. "That's even less than the average salary in China," one Twitter user wrote, while adding, "so much for her stance on female equality." "Such hypocrites#Trump family businesses r sending jobs over 2 China#cheating Americans out of manufacturing jobs#Trump-supports#no problem" an additional tweet noted.

"Greedy, corrupt and perverted, they all have to go," another social media post added. "This family is all over the place. I thought we were suppose to Hire and Buy American?" a follow-up Twitter user wrote. "Ivanka, champion of women's rights .

what about the women working in these factories? You are knowingly participating in their abuse," another tweet read. The reaction continued to pour in, as it was made clear that social media users were not happy with the reports out of China involving Ivanka Trump and her clothing line.
