For years, Donald Trump insisted that Barack Obama was an illegitimate president. Now the tables have turned, with the same thing being said about him. A recent poll indicates that 78% of Young Americans disapprove of President Trump's job performance. Only 22% of young adults who were polled support him. The study also found that more than half of those surveyed, 57% consider The Donald to be illegitimate.
Donald Trump accused President Obama of not being born in America. Young Americans, are calling Trump illegitimate for a different reason.
They believe that Russia meddled in the election, and Trump was elected illegally. The survey was conducted by the GenForward group, who track the political views of 18-30 year olds.
President Trump is shooting himself in the foot
The actions of president Trump, since gaining the Oval Office are adding fuel to the fire. He campaigned as one who would unite all citizens of the United States. Instead the country is more divided than ever. He is essentially shooting himself in the foot, each time he opens his mouth.
Since being installed as the 45th president, Donald Trump has contradicted himself on more than one occasion. He told Americans he had a really good meeting with for president Obama.
And would benefit from his experiences. Later he called Obama a bad sick guy, when he accused the 44th president of wire tapping Trump Tower. No evidence has come forth to validate this claim.
President Trump gave glowing reviews of his meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Immediately after, he went on Twitter and accused Germany of owing millions to NATO.
These flip flops have caused some to call the President Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hide.
The young people are our future
The young adults polled in the GenFoward survey, are the most racially diverse generation to vote thus far. They are our future. Overwhelmingly these young Americans, do not agree with the president wanting to build a wall, or ban Muslims.
They ae very indifferent to his right leaning views. One young woman who was polled, is 21 year old Megan Desrochers. She is a student from Lansing MI. She believes Donald Trump was elected only because he has celebrity status.
The young people are our future. And based on this survey, they have a real disconnect with our current president. They also will probably continue to consider President Trump as illegitimate, as long as the Russia scandal is looming without being resolved. And as long as he never admits he as wrong apologizes for making outlandish accusations.
