After eight years of pushing back at the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, Republicans finally announced their replacement plan last week. As part of his attempt to sell the bill to the American people, Donald Trump is attacking the current law on Twitter.

When former President Barack Obama signed Obamacare into law in 2010, it was met with immediate push back from Republicans.
Even before Obamacare became law of the land, Republicans made a point of criticizing it, setting up what would be an ongoing fight between the president and conservatives for the rest of his time in office. When the 2016 presidential election kicked off, it wasn't a surprise when every Republican running opposed the Affordable Care Act, with each candidate vowing to repeal and replace the law with a new health care agenda. As Donald Trump now looks to promote the American Health Care Act, which was revealed by House Republicans last week, it looks like it's going to face an uphill battle, even with members of his own party.
As seen on Twitter on March 23, Trump is making his best attempt at a sale.
Taking to the offical POTUS Twitter account on Thursday morning, Donald Trump ripped into Obamacare, while attaching a video for good measure. "You were given many lies with #Obamacare!" Trump tweeted out, before adding, "Go with our plan! Call your Rep & let them know you're behind #AHCA." In the attached video, the former host of "The Apprentice" continued his message.

"Americans were told that Obamacare would bring down prices and increase options," Donald Trump said to start the video. "You were told that you could keep your plan and keep your doctor. You were given many many false stories," he continued, before adding, "The fact is, you were given many lies." "Go with our plan.
It's going to be terrific. You are going to be very very happy," Trump goes on to say, before instructing the American people to call their local representatives and support the GOP bill in question.

While Donald Trump is doing his best to push for the American Health Care Act, known as Trumpcare to critics, not everyone is on board. During a meeting with Republican lawmakers earlier this week, the billionaire real estate mogul threatened those who opposed the bill, which backfired and resulted in 10 congressman reversing their vote from a "yes" to a "no."
