In today's ever-evolving world, we humans can have difficulty keeping up with the times. Our lives are Determined by how we react to the ever-changing environment. Our inability to adapt and overcome, or "roll with the punches" if you will, can often result in the truancy of our well being and happiness. We must learn to ride the waves and not drown.
What is resiliency?
As we all strive to fulfill our goals and dreams many things will lift us up, as well as drag us down, during the most unexpected time. I think that one of the critical elements that we, including myself, all need to develop continuously is our ability to become more resilient.
Resilience is the ability to recover and successfully adapt to adversity. It is our ability to realize that, no matter the obstacle, no matter the setback, no mind the haters, that we must accomplish everything we seek to accomplish and everything we put our minds to in this world.
Like the famous movie hero, Rocky Balboa said, “It ain’t how hard you hit…it’s how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. It's about how much you can take and keep moving forward!”
When life throws its never-ending punches, staying down will only prolong the healing process and put you in a worse state. You might want to stay down, that is just because it is your comfort zone at the moment, but getting up and moving forward will put you closer to what you really want.
How to push through
The first part of resilience its getting up, the second part is learning and adapting. If you fall, you must fall on your back, for if you fall on your back, you can look up, and if you can look up you can get up. Its good to be able to turn setbacks around quickly in life, but instead of just getting up and ignoring them, it's much better to get up and learn how to avoid them in the future.
In our lives, we may dread changes and problems that occur, but we need them, they are part of life, they make life interesting, and they are life's most significant teachers.
So when a change occurs in our lives, will we bend or will be a break? It's about taking the problems and making the most of every situation. Resiliency is realizing that if there is something in your life, a goal or a dream, that if it is something that you can work towards with confidence, fight for it, go through pain for it, die for it, spend every day and night working on it, face opposition for it, and never quit, you will get it! We all deserve the most significant and most prosperous lives possible, and we all have the power to make it so.
