Tennis champion Serena Williams and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian are getting married on Thursday, November 16. It will be an intimate ceremony at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, Louisiana because the city is very special to Serena. A report by the New York Daily News has confirmed this information.

Wedding guests began flying into the city on Tuesday. Some of the A-list Celebrities who are expected to attend include Beyoncé, JAY-Z, Kris Jenner, Serena's close girlfriend, Meghan Markle, and another friend Colton Haynes.

The wedding

Celebrity wedding planner Preston Bailey coordinated the dream wedding for Serena and Alexis which they spurred on. It costs in the neighborhood of $1 million. They instructed Bailey to fill the Contemporary Arts Center with thousands of dollars worth of crystals and flowers to transform the center just for them so they will have a picture perfect wedding.

Like a lot of high profile couples who get married, Williams has banned the use of cell phones and photographic equipment during the wedding. An exclusive deal has been made with her friend Anna Wintour to feature pictures of the luxurious wedding in Vogue magazine.

The journey

The wedding is coming two years after the couple began dating in 2015.

They announced their engagement last December after Ohanian proposed to Williams at a restaurant in Rome. The 36-year-old bride and 34-year-old groom are already parents to their first child together, a daughter named Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. who was born on September 1. Notice that she is named after her father. Most of the times, boys are named after their fathers and not girls.

Serena made her first red carpet appearance on November 13 after giving birth. She was a presenter at the Glamour Women of the Year awards in New York City. She was honored to present her friend Gigi Hadid with the Supernova Award.

Earlier this month, Serena celebrated her wedding with an all-girls' weekend in New York City.

Williams' older sister Venus and close friends LaLa Anthony, Ciara, and other girlfriends were included. The women had a fun-filled weekend while staying at the Baccarat Hotel & Residences. They were pampered by Spa de La Mer at the hotel and lounged by the pool in the cabanas. All of the guests of the 23-time Grand Slam champion wore white, and they really looked beautiful as they posed for photos.
