USA Today indicates that dressing up your pet is more popular than ever. The most popular ideas, according to their top ten list, include pirates, bumblebees, ghosts and a hot dog. The number one suggestion is a pumpkin. That one seems a bit harder to do, but with all of the pet costume ideas on the market, and growing number of DIY-ers, creativity has no bounds. Of course, when it comes to Halloween it is always better to think outside the box, even when it comes to dressing our four-legged friends.

When it comes to the kiddos, finding that perfect costume for Halloween can go two different ways - it can be the biggest chore of the year for a parent, or it can be as simple as placing a sheet over your child, making an instant ghost and calling it a day! The bottom line for kids on Halloween is to have fun and of course to get a boatload of candy.

Kids of today are more in the know than ever when it comes to current events and what is popular in their surroundings, so you can be sure that they are up on the latest trends and fashion ideas for Halloween. To show how much things have changed over the past three decades when it comes to Halloween costume sales, this year retailers are estimating that between costumes and candy sales, they could break an all-time record.

Halloween spending should hit a record $9.1 billion, according to the National Retail Federation, which surveyed shoppers with research firm Prosper Insights & Analytics. That would surpass the previous mark by 8.3%. That may not sound like a lot, but it will be nearly one billion dollars more than the previous mark set in 2016 of $8.4 billion.
