Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in Sandusky, Ohio is a great place to spend some time with the family this summer. The options of things to do are endless, and there is something to do for children of every age. As soon as you walk outside into the pool area, you are welcomed with festive music and an island atmosphere. Kalahari's outdoor waterpark is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
New slides now open
This summer, Kalahari added five new waterslides to their outdoor waterpark. The slides are named Stingray, Sahara Sidewinder, Tornado Alley, Serengeti Spinner, and Extreme Rush.
All of them make up the five story tall slide complex. Two of the new waterslides are body slides and three of them are raft slides.
Other attractions in the outdoor section of Kalahari include a kids activity pool featuring geysers, slides, trees, and animals. The outdoor waterpark also has hot tubs, an expanded sun deck, a state-of-the-art playground, sand volleyball courts and shuffleboard courts.
If you get hungry and want to enjoy an outdoor dining experience, the Zanzibar Grille offers delicious food and drinks. If you feel the need for a little extra excitement while at Kalahari, give the Safari Outdoor Adventure Park a try. The Adventure Park consists of a ropes course, a zip line tour, adventure climbing walls, and an animal park.
The ropes course is a three level course featuring 48 elements spanning more than 780 feet. The zip line tour is made up of 200 to 400 foot zip rides over 60 feet up in the air. The zip line course takes riders across the entire park. The adventure climbing walls are two 32 foot tall rock climbing walls. Lastly is the animal park that allows visitors to experience up-close and educational animal encounters with giraffes, zebras, kangaroos and more.
Rooms and day passes available
Book a room at Kalahari and receive free passes to the indoor and outdoor waterpark. Rooms at the resort range in price from $200 to over $1,000 for suites. If you just want to come for the day, a day pass to the waterpark can be purchased for around $55. Waterpark passes are not required for children age two and younger.
The Safari Outdoor Adventure Park pricing is not included with the overnight stay. Resort and waterpark day pass guests can enjoy the outdoor adventure park for $35 per person. For those who are just coming for the outdoor adventure park, admission is $40 per person.
