"Fortnite Battle Royale" developer Epic Games released a huge update for the popular video game on Thursday, February 14. The v7.40 update has brought numerous new things to the game, making it much more fun and exciting, and players have gotten new items, challenges, and even some big in-game events. The patch has also released the special event which allows "Fortnite" players to earn a Season 8 Battle Pass for free!
With season 7 ending in less than two weeks, there are a lot of exciting things for players to do in the game. While seasons usually get old and boring in their final weeks, the "Fortnite Battle Royale" developer has found a way to make the game entertaining this time.
Season 8's build-up event is already happening, and besides that, there are many new things players can do, including sending gifts to their friends!
Gifting in 'Fortnite'
The gifting feature has returned to "Fortnite Battle Royale" with the v7.40 patch. Players are once again able to send gifts to their friends, but there are a few limitations to this feature. Additionally, it is important to note that this is a limited-time feature that ends on February 22. Epic Games will make this feature permanent at some point in the future, but it is currently not stable and tested enough to be permanently enabled. The game developer allowed every player to send the Heartspan Glider for free to their friends, although this ended on February 15 at 7 PM ET.
It is important to note that "Fortnite" players cannot gift items from their lockers. Instead, they have to buy one of the items from the Item Shop as a gift and send it to their friends. Both players must have the two-factor authentication set up on their accounts, and they have to be friends for at least 48 hours prior to sending gifts to each other.
Additionally, players must know that gifts are not refundable and they can send up to three gifts within a 24-hour period.
Make sure you use this feature before it expires and give some nice surprises to your Epic Games friends! It is unknown when the game developer will bring this feature again, so you will have to use it now if you have friends you want to send gifts to.
Upcoming update
Epic Games will most likely release the v7.40 content update on Tuesday, February 19. This is going to be the last update in season 7 and we can expect season 8 to be huge. Don't forget, you can earn its Battle Pass for free before the current season ends!
