The latest updates for "Resident Evil 2" reveal two new in-game costumes for Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. Capcom streamed a new trailer featuring Claire and Leon in their classic outfits from the original "RE2" game in the PlayStation 1.

The Japanese video game publisher also announced that three "RE" titles will be ported to the Nintendo Switch console. The revamped sequel will have players return to the zombie-infested town of Raccoon City as both Claire and Leon must solve the mystery behind it and survive the horrible experience. Capcom used the RE Engine software to rebuild the game from scratch and brought a new horror experience for the beloved classic.

Classic RE2 costumes added

According to Siliconera, Capcom streamed the new trailer of "Resident Evil 2" and it sees Leon and Claire in their classic PS1 costumes from the original title with a few minor changes. Leon's outfit is called "Classic Police" costume, while Claire's outfit is called "Classic Jacket" costume. These costumes can be unlocked for free, but it is unclear if they can unlock by finishing the whole game or as a bonus DLC set.

It was previously reported that more "RE2" outfits will be added to the game when players purchased the Deluxe Edition. These outfits include the Noir costumes, Eliza Walker, Military garb, and the Arklay sheriff uniform.

Capcom producer Tsuyoshi Kanda told Siliconera in a previous interview that the plot of the revamped sequel is still the same, but they added some changes to the scenes to make it more unique and unpredictable for players who played the original PS1 title.

Capcom aims to create the goriest and most violent title in the franchise's history.

Zombies are much harder to kill in the game adding to the sense of fear when players encounter them in every corner. Classic characters such as Marvin Branaugh, Ada Wong, and Sherri Birkin will have different debut scenes. Boss fights like William Birkin will have different mechanics on how to beat them.

Three RE titles for the Nintendo Switch

According to GameSpot, Capcom announced three "Resident Evil" titles for the Switch and these are "RE" remake, "RE0," and "RE4." All three games will be available next year and Capcom will announce new details about their official release dates soon.

These three games were previously released for the PS4, Xbox One and PC, complete with graphic improvements allowing 4K HD experience.

"RE2" will launch on January 25, 2019, for the consoles and the PC.
