The latest updates for the PS4 exclusive "Spider-Man" video game reveal an appearance in this year's San Diego Comic-Con event. Insomniac Games will reveal more details about Spidey's new game at the event and the title could potentially create an Avengers standalone video game.
The game's storyline will feature Peter Parker trying to balance a "normal life" with his crime-fighting activities in New York. Peter will face a new threat in the form of Martin Li and the Demons, alongside classic villains like Rhino, Vulture, Scorpion, and more. The game will officially launch on September 7 for the PlayStation 4 console.

While they did not divulge any details, the comic book and video game fans are curious to see what Marvel and Insomniac have in store for it since they pretty much revealed everything during E3 2018.

So far, the game will feature open-world mechanics as Peter swings around New York, looking for bad guys and stopping them.
The combat system allows players to perform joggle moves and combos, as well as, web-based gadgets to trap enemies or create space when being overwhelmed. Spidey will face several members of the Sinister Six and the mastermind behind it has been hinted to be Doctor Octopus. Other characters that are featured in the game include Aunt May, Mary Jane Watson, Miles Morales, Norman Osborn, and Wilson Fisk.
An Avengers standalone title after 'Spider-Man'
According to Segment Next, "Spider-Man" could potentially open the door for other Marvel characters to have their own standalone title as several Easter eggs within the game revealed the existence of the Avengers and Daredevil.
The Avengers Tower and Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum were spotted in the game's huge open-world map, and the Daily Bugle newspapers featured Matt Murdock's firm and the address of Avengers mansion.
The idea is promising but whether or not Insomniac Games will pursue the idea of expanding it has yet to be determined.
On an interesting note, Square Enix and Marvel are developing a video game title based on the Avengers and a teaser featured Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and the Hulk.
