I look forward every month to getting a free game from Playstation Plus. Today it's so difficult to keep up with every new release. The time it takes to play through a game isn't easily found in a busy schedule, and games keep getting more expensive. If you're willing to wait for some games, though, they can find their way onto your hard drive for free. "Mad Max" is a game that I wanted to play since it came out in 2015, but just never got around to it. Luckily I'll finally get the opportunity in a few days for free.
"Mad Max" follows protagonist Max Rockatansky, everyone's favorite former highway patrol man through the barren, apocalyptic ruins of Australia to recover his prized V8 Interceptor that has been stolen by Immortan Joe's (of the 2015 film) son, Scrotus.
Lead Max through the violent, bloody game to get his car back.
'Mad Max' video game reception
Before its release "Mad Max" was one of the most anticipated games of the year, boasting incredible feedback from Game Revolution and IGN. According to Game Revolution, they said "Mad Max" would be, "exhilarating, fast, violent, and fun" and said it would be the title that fans of the series would want to play.
Upon its release, "Mad Max" was the second best-selling game in the United Kingdom in its first week of release, preceding only "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" which was released that very same day.
After release is a different story, receiving mostly mixed reviews from around the world. Most agree that the world building, car customization and characters are there, however, it brought nothing truly new to the genre.
Quests may have seemed repetitive and the beginning of the game may have lost some players due to its lack of narrative and clear objectives.
This hasn't stopped players from experiencing it today, though, and now with the free release, it's bound to find its way into more gamers' hearts.
Will you be playing 'Mad Max'?
If you haven't played it yet, you will get the opportunity now for free.
Will you be downloading it? Or, have you already played it? I know I will be one of the first people downloading it and cannot wait to finally get my chance to play. Playstation Plus does a great job releasing Free Games every month that I actually care about. Thanks to them I was finally granted the chance to play "Bloodbourne," which has always been on my radar but again, I never got the opportunity to actually sit down and play. Are you excited for "Mad Max"?
