While looking for ancient artifacts and gunning down the competition at the drop of a hat, Lara Croft is what most woman desire to be ambition, resilient and oh so sophisticated. Created by Toby Gard and was awarded a Guinness world record recognizing character, Lara Croft is the most successful human video game heroine. The developers Core Design, Crystal Dynamics, Nixxes Software, and Ubisoft Millan have become known for there creativity toward storylines.

Lara Croft comes to life
The first "Tomb Raider" was released in 1996 for Sega Saturn, PlayStation, and MS-DOS. You play as an intelligent British strong-willed archaeologist in search of three mysterious scion artifacts scattered across the world. Lara has to endure through booby-trapped infested tombs, forcing her character to outsmart each element with critical puzzle-solving skills to survive throughout each level. This game itself sold over seven million copies worldwide. "Tomb Raider" later came out with many other games, 18 in total, and 10 additional expansion packs making over $60 million in sales worldwide, not including the action figures and movies.

The new movie
"Tomb Raider" is back in theaters this year, directed by Roar Uthaug and written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet, and Alastair Siddons.
With a new leading lady Alicia Vikander, she is playing the role of Lara Croft for the modern version coming out on March 16. It is based on the 2013 video game. Alicia Vikander is a Swedish actress and former dancer. She is the recipient of several accolades, including an academy award, and was listed by Forbes in their 30 under 30 list in 2016.
