There have been rumors spreading around from multiple sources that a new "Call of Duty" game is on the way and it could be out this year. The franchise has fallen off with "Advanced Warfare" and other titles, but it recently bounced back with it's most recent game "Call of Duty: WWII."
It is no secret that the series was one of the most successful and entertaining shooter games in the golden years. The series is looking to capitalize in 2018 by going back to the "Black Ops" series. The "Black Ops" saga is debated as some of the best COD games to arrive ever.
And now with so many anticipated games coming out this year, "Black Ops 4" is coming.
The details
Multiple sources have listed that the next installment in the series could arrive this year. "Eurogamer reports that Activision subsidiary Treyarch is working on Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 for a launch "late in the year." The article goes into how it would not even be a surprise for the studio to be making the game after a three-year rotation.
Sledgehammer Games developed the latest game in the series "Call of Duty: WWII" and Infinity Ward created another title "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare."
The new game could have futuristic elements like past games or it could be something new. Tweets about the new game were kicked off by "Nintendo-focused writer Marcus Sellars." Sellars tweeted out that the next game is in development and that it will be coming out on many platforms including the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
On all platforms
A surprise is that the game will also be coming out on the Nintendo Switch. The Switch has been doing very well and there aren't many games out on it currently, but the latest COD game will be on it. The tweet below confirms that the game will be in modern times and that it will be on the Switch.
COD 2018 is Black Ops 4 and is coming to PS4/Xbox/PC/Switch. It is set in the modern times and is boots on the ground. The Switch version will support DLC, HD Rumble and motion controls. The Switch version is also being ported by a company which is familar with COD games.

This information has not been confirmed by Eurogamer quite yet, but it could be true.
It has been a while since a COD game was put onto a Nintendo platform since 2013 to be exactly as stated in the article. Both "Call of Duty: Ghosts" and "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2," were released on the Wii U.
When could the game arrive?
All signs are pointing to a possible November launch. The article gives insight, saying that "Activision traditionally launches Call of Duty titles in early November." The company itself has not commented on the game yet though.
"Black Ops 4" will be successful when it comes out. It will be arriving after the successful game "Call of Duty: WWII." The studio is already making a great decision in having the game come out on many platforms to boost their sales. After hearing all the rumors about the new game, fans can not wait to get this game. This game joins a superb list of games that are coming out this year.
