“PUBG” was one of the most successful games in 2017 on PC and the Xbox One. Polygon stated that the CEO of PUBG Corp. said they would like to bring the game to other platforms in the future.
Currently an Xbox One exclusive title
As of right now, the game is an exclusive title on Xbox One. In an interview with Inven Global, Chang Han Kim stated that they are currently focusing on completing the Xbox One version for now when asked about the PS4 version of the game. He later stated that if possible, their final goal would be to launch the game on every platform.
Sony is currently not offering an early access program so if the game were to be on the PS4, it would have to be finished. Overall this may be better for the developer. As they continue to work on the Xbox One version during the exclusivity period they will have a better idea for when they launch a version on the PS4 when they get the opportunity.
'PUBG' success
As of December 29, the game broke 3 million current players. “PUBG” is the biggest game on Steam. "Dota 2," which is free, had an all-time peak of 1,291,328 players, while “PUBG” was at 3,080,769 last month.
In September 2017 the game had sold more than 10 million copies. It originally launched on Steam’s Early Access program on March 23, 2017.
It was supported by a large group of players. The game immediately took off as one of the top five most-watched games on Twitch. Sales skyrocketed, hitting one million units in just 16 days and two million in under a month.
