Released worldwide for Nintendo Switch on Aug. 29, 2017, Ubisoft will make available the first downloadable content (DLC) for the turn-based tactical role-playing video game “Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle” tomorrow, Oct. 17th. Another DLC is expected to arrive early next year, Jan. 16th, 2018 to be exact. This DLC will have a Story Mode pack.
The DLC will be available for those who already have Season Pass. As posted by Nintendo Life, there are at least two major parts included in the first DLC of “Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle."
First DLC pack
The first part of the DLC is called Ultra Challenge Pack, which, according to Nintendo Life, is already available for UK gamers via Season Pass.
This pack is divided into two sections: Ultra Challenge Pack and Cataclysm Kerfuffle. The first section of the Ultra Challenge Pack is called Special Challenges and will be in the form of difficult maps in each of the four worlds inside “Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle." These exciting challenges can be accessed from the Secret Area.
The second section is a co-op campaign mode called Cataclysm Kerfuffle. This world consists of five maps and has alternate, unlockable “hard mode” versions. The second DLC is expected to arrive early next year. According to Ubisoft, it will contain a Story Mode, though they did not reveal whether it will feature a backstory for "Mario" or "Raving Rabbids."
Ubisoft-Nintendo crossover
“Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle” is the product of a crossover between Nintendo's “Mario” and Ubisoft's “Raving Rabbids” franchises and was designed solely for Nintendo Switch.
The game features both single and cooperative modes. The main story of the game tells “the story of an unexpected encounter between Mario and the irreverent Rabbids,” as posted by Ubisoft. Players will control Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Yoshi -- and their Rabbids counterpart -- as they go through different challenges in four different worlds inside the Mushroom Kingdom.
The Rabbids
Incidentally, the Rabbids are also a product of a spinoff from another Ubisoft video game, the Rayman series. Released back in 2006, the “Raving Rabbids” brought about the story of rabbit-like creatures known as the Rabbids. These large creatures know only one thing – they are indeed crazy.
For those who have yet to get their hands on this Ubisoft-Nintendo crossover video game, there are four Rabbid heroes: Rabbid Mario, Rabbid Luigi, Rabbid Yoshi, and Rabbid Peach, who has a new gameplay trailer. Each Rabbids hero has different skills and capabilities that closely resemble that of Mario and his friends.
