The latest updates for Square Enix's "Avengers Project" will feature new job openings for the game and more details on its gameplay and possible playable characters.

Video game job openings

According to NeoGaf username Kirolak, video game developer Crystal Dynamics posted a job opening for the lead level designer position in the "Avengers Project" and the applicant must be a "hands-on individual contributor" with a strong understanding of the game's balance fundamentals and tuning to social implications of shared gameplay.

The lead level designer is also responsible for building fun and engaging game modes and features.

These include conceptualizing, designing, and implementing game levels from the ground up, as well as, guiding and leading the design inputs on "cutting-edge" online technology. Fans have speculated these game features indicate that the "Avengers Project" could be a new MMO title similar to "Tom Clancy's The Division."

A separate job listing for the "Avengers Project" revealed a combat system designer position. The applicant will work closely with the lead combat designer in terms of planning and build a prototype combat system for the game. The position will also require them to anticipate the cost of multiplayer and online features. This leads to another theory that the game will likely be a third-person, cover-based action game just like "Gears of War" and "Uncharted."

There are also rumored reports that Crystal Dynamics is open to the possibility of having paid services such as DLC and in-game loot boxes like "Overwatch." For now, gamers will have to wait for Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics announcements for the game soon.

Possible playable characters

Square Enix announced "Avengers Project" on January and it was accompanied by a teaser trailer that featured items that are associated with Earth's Mightiest heroes such as Thor's Mjolnir. Iron Man's repulsor gauntlet, and Captain America's star-spangled shield.

Comic book fans speculated that the teaser trailer revealed that the Avengers have fallen into battle as new heroes will rise up to continue their legacy.

These heroes include the new Ms. Marvel Kamala Khan, Kate Bishop, Nova Corp. member Sam Alexander, America Chavez, Ultimate Spider-Man Miles Morales, and Jane Foster's Thor.

Marvel is currently busy developing and promoting new and upcoming video game titles starting with "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" on Sept.19 and the PS4 exclusive "Spider-Man" game in 2018.
