NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. have launched the latest “Injustice 2” trailer, which teases fans a first good look at Raiden, the eternal God of Thunder from “Mortal Kombat” universe. The gameplay teaser also confirmed the addition of Black Lighting premier skin through the Ultimate Edition.
During the Pro Series Finals, the game developer unveiled the brand new gameplay footage of one of the most powerful fighters in “Mortal Kombat” franchise. It shows off Raiden in his kick-ass moves and lethal finishing attack as a guest character in the game.

About Raiden
Raiden is set to arrive in the game as the second playable fighter in Fighter Pack 2. This second hero pack introduces three more characters out of the nine DLC fighters planned for the DC fighting title. The other two are Aquaman’s nemesis, Black Manta, and the fan-requested superhero, Hellboy.
In addition, Raiden is one of the main characters in “Mortal Kombat” series that is being added to the game after Sub-Zero. In his introduction in the gameplay trailer, he describes himself as “the true god of thunder.”
He displays a great power to topple his opponents using megatons of lightning. It also appears that gamers will be able to set up different damaging combos for Raiden that will be difficult to pit against.
Black Lightning premier skin
The surprise reveal also teased Black Lightning that will be added in the game as a premier skin for Raiden. Earlier, game director Ed Boon teased this character as a plausible new content coming in the DC fighting title.
It turned out that the tease was not just to troll his followers on Twitter.
He dropped a hint when he cited the DC characters that have "Black” in their names. He posted, "Black Canary, Black Adams, Black Manta, and “Black…,” and fans guessed the last one as Black Lightning.
Black Manta available for everyone
Speaking of Black Manta, he is now available for everyone to purchase beginning September 19.
He was initially released last week to players who own the Ultimate Edition of the game.
The Fighter Pack 1 costs $20 with all four characters, and each of them is sold for $6 when purchased separately. So, it is expected that the same price applies for Fighter Pack 2 and players can also buy Black Manta alone for $6.
Raiden and Black Lighting will arrive in "Injustice 2" sometime in October. The game is currently available on current-gen consoles, Xbox One and PS4 while a leaked listing suggested that a PC version is underway for release within the last quarter of 2017.
