The latest updates for "God Of War" will feature new details on the player choices and a Digital Deluxe Edition of the game revealed online.
'Parenting' choices
Game director Cory Balrog revealed new details for "God of War" as players are tasked to make the hard choices during the course of the story. Balrog compared the new "Player Choice" system to parenting as each decision they make will not only affect Kratos but his son Atreus as well.
The new game mechanic will fit perfectly to the sequel's storyline since Kratos is doing his best to be a good father to Atreus and teaches him how to survive the cold and harsh climate of the Norse region.
Balrog admitted that many gamers were doubtful about his decision to have a "father and son" theme in the sequel, but he and his team stood their ground and believed in the project, using it as motivation to improve and make the game better.
There are also new changes to "God of War's" combat system. Sony's marketing vice president Asad Qizilbash claimed that the changes would make the sequel the "most brutal" game in the series. Qizilbash added that the system would no longer see Kratos taking on an army of enemies. Instead, he will focus on one or two opponents in battle.
With that in mind, Sana Monica Studio intends to make the fights more up-close and personal as possible. The developers also want the players to care for Kratos' situation in the story to counter balance his brutality in the game.
Digital Deluxe Edition
It seems that a special edition for "God of War" has been revealed online as Amazon posted a "Digital Deluxe Edtion" of the game for $70 and is slated to launch on June 30, 2018. The contents of the Digital Deluxe Edition include the game's digital soundtrack, art book, PS4 Dynamic theme, Exile's Guardian Shield skin, a digital comic book issue 0, and the Death Vow Armor sets for Kratos and Atreus.
Santa Monica Studio has not yet confirmed if the Digital Deluxe Edition is legitimate since there has been no official announcement about it from their past appearances.
The new "God o War" will have Kratos and Atreus face monsters and gods from Norse Mythology. Atreus will assist his father in battle using specialized arrows and performing stealth kills.
He can also talk to Norse creatures like the World Serpent and will often challenge his father to a fight to see if he is strong enough to handle any situation on his own.
The sequel will launch on early 2018 for the PS4 console.
