“Dead by Daylight” introduces Leatherface from another popular licensed film, “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” as the newest playable killer in Chapter 6. First available on PC, game developer Behaviour Interactive promises lots of exclusive surprises for the players to discover.
Fans of the asymmetric horror video game can step into Leatherface’s blood-soaked boots and wield his infamous chainsaw weapon in killing the survivors beginning September 14. The new killer is available now on PC version for a price of $3.99 and the studio said that players on Xbox One and PS4 will be able to get it “soon.”
The studio also launched Leatherface spotlight trailer, which offers a closer look at the latest character DLC.
Check out the teaser below.
Unique style and perks
Similar to other killers added in “Dead by Daylight,” Leatherface also owns a unique style. Creative director Dave Richard discussed what it’s like for gamers to control the mentally disturbed villain that wears a mask made out of human skin, hence his name.
According to Richard, the character is unique with his full control over his signature weapon. As Leatherface revs up his chainsaw, he gets into a crazed attack mode. In this mode, he swings it from one side to the other in a vast angle as his momentum increases.
If he is interrupted during the chainsaw attack, he gets tantrums. Subsequently, he unleashes his classic move known as “the chainsaw dance” that still yield deadly strikes.
Moreover, the Leatherface DLC sees three perks and skills unique to the chainsaw-wielding murderer. These include knock out, barbecue & chili, and Franklin’s demise.
More surprises
Notably, not all fans are happy with the addition of Leatherface as the 9th killer in the title. Some say Leatherface is just another Hillbilly who wields a hammer and a chainsaw.
However, Behaviour Interactive promises heaps of surprises from the addition of Leatherface in the game that is different from other DLCs. Players can expect to experience some spine-chilling suspense once they play the new character.
Gamers can head over to the official website for more of the latest details and get a look at teaser photos of Leatherface.
Those who have not purchased the game yet and are interested in giving it a try first before buying, the game is free-to-play this weekend on all platforms.
“Dead by Daylight” is also sold at 50% off on Steam. The Special Edition for Xbox One and PS4 consoles comes at a price of $29.99, and it includes four DLC packs as well as cosmetic items.
