According to DualShockers, the Japanese publisher has released new details and 1080p screenshots about its upcoming action RPG, detailing everything about the game’s new characters, battle system, and character creation tool. This gives players a good idea of how the game’s battle system and character creation will look like.
What to expect from the upcoming RPG
As mentioned earlier by DualShockers, the newly released screenshot has also highlighted the game's battle system, which will be varied and offers a lot of options for players. The battle system offers a few layers that players will need to exploit in order to survive in the game. Here are some the details:
The first one is the gift system, which allows "Code Veins" players to use up to 8 gifts during battle to temporarily increase attack or defense. Another is the stamina gauge, which allows players to manage all of the actions including attacks, drain, and evasion. Players are advised to keep an eye on the status of the stamina gauge to survive in the game.
The focus system, which according to Xbox Achievements, can increase the character’s abilities in the battle, activates as they receive or dodge attacks while being surrounded by their enemies. It also increases the player’s fighting chance in extreme situations. Players can get a power boost when accidentally or intentionally placing themselves in dangerous gaming situations.
With the focus system, players can negate attacks, increase the overall amount of damage dealt out, and even deliver aerial combo attacks.
Additionally, a successful drain action will also increase the number of Ichor points as well as the number of Ichor stock. A special drain can also be activated after a successfully timed parry against an enemy attack, by making a combo attack or attacking an enemy from behind.
Finally, the partner actions, which will also aid in battle, give players the ability to summon or call upon a companion character for support in battle.
