It's easy to say that "Rocket League" is one of the most successful games from Psyonix, the studio that brought the vehicular soccer video game to life back in July 2015 for PlayStation 4 and PC. The game finally made its way to Xbox One in February last year, and the studio has been consistently providing support for the game ever since. The next update for the game will arrive this fall, during which the studio is also set to head to the Nintendo Switch later this year.
For now, fans can anticipate the arrival of transparent goalposts this fall, and Mario-themed Battle-Cars for when it heads to Nintendo Switch during the holidays.
Transparent goalposts to be added through an update
According to PlayStation Lifestyle, the next update for Psynonix's "Rocket League" will be released this Autumn. With it comes the arrival of transparent goalposts, which have long been in demand among fans of the game. Interestingly, these transparent goalposts will enable players to see through goals, goalposts, and other areas of the Arena wall, especially those parts that were previously solid walls.
According to the press release, "hen defending in-goal, for example, the posts and walls around you will become transparent for better vision. The same goes for players who hug Arena walls on offense or defense because the quarter pipe will be see-through as well."
How transparent goalposts work
In the upcoming update for "Rocket League," players can benefit from the transparent goalposts that will let them see through areas previously blocked by walls. According to Psyonix, the player's position will determine whether such walls or posts are transparent or opaque. For those who are not interested in this new feature, it can easily be turned off in the Options screen.
Mario-themed Battle-Cars for Switch players
Fans of "Rocket League" who are looking to play the game on the Nintendo Switch need not wait any longer, as the game will head to the console very soon. To make the treat even sweeter, Psyonix will release "exclusive customization items" and Mario-themed Battle-Cars specifically for Nintendo Switch players only. At launch, players will be able to get their hands on the Mario NSR, Luigi NSR, and Samus Gunship vehicles, absolutely free of charge. However, players will have to unlock them in-game by completing "certain requirements," which will be detailed closer to the launch date. There will also be some Mario and Luigi Toppers to look forward to. Check out the trailer below for more.
