To retain players’ interest in any game, it is very important for the developers to keep adding new and interesting updates and features to the game. It seems Niantic is following the same strategy to keep gamers’ interest in the wildly popular mobile game, “Pokemon Go.”
According to The Silph Road, data miners have discovered data related to the Gen 3 “Pokemon GO” creatures in the latest Android APK metadata. Around 135 new Gen 3 species appeared in the APK metadata along with 73 new candy “families” including Treecko, Deoxys and more.
Niantic’s development team has not yet announced anything about the Generation 3 update.
However, the APK metadata mentioning the Gen 3 creatures hints that the game developer has already laid the groundwork. Nevertheless, “Pokemon Go” fans should not expect the new creatures to get introduced anytime soon.
The Silph Road first uncovered the Gen 2 creatures in November 2016, but they actually appeared in the game in February 2017. Furthermore, the APK data did not include Pokemon’s move sets and sound files which suggest that the next-gen "Pokemon" update is still early in the development process.
Fire-type and Grass-type Gen 3 Pokemon
The Fire-Type Pokemon that are expected to be added to the Pokemon Go game as Gen 3 creatures include Torchic, Combuskin, Blaziken, Numel, Camerupt, and Torkoal.
Torchic's final evolution is Blaziken. Blaziken, which is among the first Fire/Fighting dual-type Pokemon, has an attack stat higher than Charizard and Typhlosion. Torkoal is a pure Fire-Type Pokemon with great Defense stats.
The upcoming update is likely to add a couple of new grass-type Pokemon including Treecko, Grovyle and Sceptile, Lotad, Lombre and Ludicolo, Seedot, Nuzleaf and Shiftry, Shroomish and Breloom, Roselia, Cacnea and Cacturne, Lileep and Cradily and Tropius.
The Grass-Type starter Pokemon Treecko evolves into Sceptile. Lotad has a lilypad on its back and evolves into a Ludicolo which has solid stats. Seedot’s final evolution is Shiftry which is a dangerous Grass/Dark-Type Pokemon.
Super incubator
The APK metadata also mentions about a secret item called a super incubator. As the name suggests, players might be able to use the super incubator to hatch eggs at an accelerated rate. Notably, the new feature has not yet been confirmed by the game developers.
